David Hobbs Chartered Architect Ltd
Sympathetic, Sustainable Design

David was brought up in Milton Keynes, qualified as an architect in 1982 and, after gaining experience with firms in London, Essex and Hertfordshire, set up on his own in 1992, incorporating the practice early in 2003.

He has worked on many residential projects ranging from large extensions to one-off houses and small developments.
David has extensive knowledge and experience of working within the rigorously monitored residential care sector, working with both private Clients and Charitable organisations (most notably the RMBI) in converting, extending and refurbishing residential and nursing homes both locally and nationally.

He has undertaken various commissions in health, education, research and commercial sectors with both Building Contractors and local Charities such as the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust and The Ark Charity. His work with Willen Hospice is one of his proudest associations. He has embraced timber frame design but is equally happy with traditional design. He is keen to use sustainable design features as evidenced in the project at South Lodge, Wavendon.

Aside from the day job, David enjoys playing golf, is a season-ticket holder for Northampton Saints RFC and is also an active member of the Rotary Club of Milton Keynes Grand Union.

The practice is ably supported on the administration side by David's wife, Julia, who is the company secretary.
